AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
With the help of our dedicated and trained team of support workers, KIP Canada offers free after-school programming for children (6-12 years old) with a parent or close family member who has been involved with the justice system. Our After School Program is designed to empower at-risk children and youth by providing the opportunity to build positive peer relationships, develop social skills and learn healthy choices at home, at school and in the community.
KIP Canada provides a safe and supportive environment for children and youth to engage in the arts, participate in a variety of sports, recreation and team-building activities, and enjoy a nutritious family-style dinner. Our program offers a Let’s Chat peer group where children and youth have the opportunity to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, gain peer support and learn healthy coping strategies from trained and diverse social workers, support workers and mentors. To foster academic success, our team helps with homework, reads with children to improve literacy skills and offers tutoring for youth who need ongoing academic support.
Our holistic program provides opportunities for children to engage in the arts, supports, and activities that align with their interests as well as receive individual, group, and peer support to their mental health, well-being, and development.
